A New Wardrobe...
To say "People are flawed" is a no-brainer - we witness and exhibit it every day. But the higher call of being in relationship gives us the amazing opportunity to accept people, flaws and all, and love them anyway. It is not to say we should proclaim the flaws aren't flaws, or that we should embrace the flaws as acceptable - they are after all "flaws", and as such detract from the beauty of who are are at our core.
The goal of sharing the Love of God is to walk along side one another, helping one another shed those flaws as friends helping one another discard ill-fitting, uncomfortable clothes, and "threading up" into attire (words, attitudes and behaviors) that more perfectly fits who we are becoming in our relationship with our Creator and with each other. Ephesians 4:22-24 says we should "put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."
Walking in love and acceptance of people while simultaneously agreeing to help one another reject behaviors unbecoming leads us to AMAZING freedom! What a great opportunity real Love is!
