Floundering on the "other side of the tracks"?

Floundering on the "other side of the tracks"?

This morning I was listening to a Life Today TV broadcast and heard these words: "You may think that because of where you've been and what you've done, you're on 'the wrong side of the tracks' and can't have an unreserved relationship with God. But when Jesus died on the cross, He DESTROYED those tracks - there is NOTHING separating us from God" (Matthew 27:51, Romans 8). For those of us who are post-abortive, who have not fully accepted God's forgiveness (not just a mental a

    The Goal is GROWTH....

This previous week had been rough – and let’s just say I did not handle all my challenges well! I went to bed early Friday night, but also woke up early – my Saturday Quiet Times are more leisurely, deeper, more detailed than the rest of the week when I have to run out the door to work - and I look forward to them. This Saturday was no different. Our Daily Bread, some Psalms and part of Romans, part of a book I’m reading and then…? Log into my JMT University for an archived c

    Second chances...

Sometimes I feel like I'm skating a razor's edge. "...don't go outside the lines, and when you do, that's it, it's too late, you blew it!" I really needed to hear this Our Daily Bread devotional post this morning, because yesterday I gave into old behavior habits of gossip, impatience, anger, selfishness, taking offense, and hatred because I allowed internal accusations against other people room in my head to fester and grow out of control. I remember an old teaching by Charl

    Purpose in the Pain

You are being TRUSTED with your pain - for a higher purpose I watched Life Today this morning and saw John Gray speak about some of the struggles he went through. As he began speaking, I knew this would be shared on this blog! “When you are going through struggles in your life, it is not God sentencing you to pain, it is God TRUSTING you with the pain; because if you can be trusted with the pain, you can be trusted with the treasure” Yes!! There are hard-won treasures availa

    The First of a Lifetime...

This is the first day of a new adventure - blogging on my new site! Not that I haven't shared before on Facebook/The Power of Choices by Tracy Medling - or on my home page Facebook/Tracy Medling - but this is really neat finding pictures to go with what I'm writing about. It's time to celebrate, to share what I am learning - and in some cases re-learning! to shine a spotlight on the people, places and things God is using to chip away the stuff that makes me less of what I am
